BlizzCon 2013 Pt II: Heroes of the Storm

BlizzCon 2013 showcased the new MOBA style game from Blizzard. It was new and shiny and exactly what BlizzCon was about: fandom. The game features iconic Blizzard universe heroes, and even some run-of-the-mill nobodies as well, that overload ones mind with awesome.

The lore doesn’t make sense, the timelines don’t match, but let’s be honest here… a universe where the Lich King can be caught fighting Tyrael? Sploosh.

Heroes of the Storm claims to be focused on ‘fun’, the type of game the developers wanted to play. Each match aims to be around 25 minutes in length and has multi-objective stages to help eliminate the redundancy or frustrations that can come along with 45 minute games. There is also a bigger emphasis on the team over the individual, giving new players a chance at learning the game and seasoned players can take on a leadership based role. Richard Cobbett (from www.eurogamer.net) says it best: “…good for players who’ve been tempted by the likes of Dota 2 but were scared off after seeing its learning curve built of lava and broken glass.”

Check out the video below of some in-game footage… look closely to spot Diablo riding a pwny that leaves a rainbow trail.

Keep an eye out for updates, the moment I get a BETA for this I will be streaming.

Really cool to see them finally , take a bit of the market…I just hope the game play is good. Having played dota,dota2, LoL,Hon and now infinite crises I must say the bar is high. This may bring more people(so to speak) on board. I’ll be on that all night long!!! lol
