Captain Canuck Episode Four Launch

Last spring, Captain Canuck Inc. ran an Indiegogo campaign for raise $50, 000 to revive this Canadian hero in his own animated web-series. You can read more about Captain Canuck’s history in this GEEKPR0N article by Diana.

The successful campaign culminated in a five part webseries, the fourth of which is going live today!

Previously the episodes have had a sneak preview, be it on Canada Day at the Silver Snail, at a packed panel at Fan Expo, and at the Silver Snail’s Halloween Party.

This time, in association with their partner the Silver Snail, the episode was aired at the Toronto store on Friday January 10th.  Not only was the episode aired, but exclusive Captain Canuck merchandise like mugs, t-shirts, and buttons were for sale.

A few of the voice actors in the series attended, including Paul Amos (Lost Girl’s Vex) and InnerSpace’s Ajay Fry. The creative and production team behind our Captain was also there in full force including Executive Producer Fadi Hakim, Character Designer/Concept Artist Kalman Andrasofszky (look for an interview with him coming soon to our site), and original creator Richard Comely.

One of the fun things that the series does is delve into Canada’s musical catalogue, with each episode featuring iconic songs, like Platinum Blonde’s Standing in the Dark, and The Watchmen’s “Stereo”, over the end credits. In a not really spoiler note: The Wordburglar was also at the screening, so watch until the end of the credits.
