This fan trailer will make you want to watch Star Wars again (like you needed a reason)

Have you heard of Cameron Arrigioni? He’s kind of a big deal. This week a Mark Hamill Facebook fan page posted his fan-made trailer for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Yes, that Empire Strikes Back; we are talking about Star Wars episode five that released in 1980. Why should you care about a new trailer for a movie that you’ve undoubtedly seen a few dozen times? Arrigioni gave his cut of the trailer a new spin, a 34 year-old movie gets a new look and the trailer is presented in the style of modern trailers. In case you haven’t already seen it, take a look:

Arrigioni puts the entire focus on Luke Skywalker and his struggle against the Darth Vader. Its tone is appropriately dark and even though it contains some spoilers, it teases some of the most epic scenes from one of science fiction’s best loved sequels. Perhaps the trailer’s greatest strength is that it omits all of the comic relief in favour of focusing on the drama that fuels the space epic. Kind of makes you want to watch it again, doesn’t it? Tell us what you think of Arrigioni’s trailer in the comments.
