On Saturday October 19th, 2013, Albuquerque New Mexico hosted a funeral for its most famous fictional television character.  Starting at 4:30 P.M. (MST), Sunset Memorial Park hosted the memorial service for Breaking Bad’s Walter White (a.k.a. Heisenberg).  Following the memorial service, a dinner reception took place at Vernon’s Steakhouse.

To attend both the memorial service at Sunset Memorial Park and the dinner reception at Vernon’s Steakhouse, separate tickets were required.  All proceeds made from the the memorial service and dinner reception will be given to the Vernon’s Steakhouse Walter White Endowment Fund benefiting Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless.  According to an article published by krqe.com, two days before the Walter White funeral, $11,000 has already been raised.

On a side note, The Albuquerque Journal published Walter White’s obituary on page A4 of its Friday, October 4th edition.

You can find more details about the memorial service at the official website for Walter White’s funeral service.  Wouldn’t be great if Vernon’s Steakhouse served eggs and bacon so mourners can relive the final days of Walter White by display their age with their bacon?
