Idris Elba Reveals Age of Ultron Secret

Marvel, will you ever run out of surprises? The Age of Ultron news just keeps coming and it seems like we won’t hear the end of it until the movie’s May 2015 release. But this newest piece of gossip didn’t come from studio president Kevin Feige, or Marvel itself; this news comes from Idris Elba. Marvel fans will recognize Elba as Heimdall, the golden-clad watcher of Asgard. As it turns out, he let an interesting tidbit spill when speaking to the Telegraph; and revealed that both he and Tom Hiddleston (the infamous Loki) would appear in a scene in with Chris Hemsworth (who plays Thor) in The Avengers sequel. That’s right, Heimdall and Loki will appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron, how unbelievably exciting is that?

Now before we have a collective freak out about what role their characters play in the story, let’s put things into perspective. At the end of Thor: The Dark World, (spoiler here, skip ahead a bit if you haven’t seen it) we left Thor believing Loki was dead when in fact he was sitting on Asgard’s throne. Loki’s use of illusion is an old trick, and he is not likely to give up his new found power easily. On top of that, the Age of Ultron trailer makes it very clear that the Avengers will be experiencing some flash backs. In the trailer we see Captain America (Chris Evans) walk into a crowded ballroom, we also see a group of ballerinas that allude to Black Widow’s (Scarlet Johansson) origin story; it’s my guess that these memories will be relived courtesy of the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson). If that is the case, it is very possible that Thor may flash back to a recollection to his friend and adopted brother. The other option is the possibility of Heimdall and Loki appearing in the post credit stinger scene. We know that Thor: Ragnarok will follow Age of Ultron by two years, so it would be just like Marvel to set it up with a tease. What do you guys think? Are we seeing the foundations of Ragnarok, a simple flash back, or is there something else going on here? Let us know in the comments and we’ll keep you posted on all the Age of Ultron news.
