IDW Games Announces Series of Orphan Black Table-Top Games

Orphan Black Fans have another way to indulge their love of the television series!

After the exciting announcement of Orphan Black #1 as February’s top-selling comic, this month IDW made another exciting announcement about this successful comic/TV show! This summer will see the release of a series of Orphan Black tabletop games. Up first will be a deductive card game scheduled for sale in game stores this summer across North America. The games will include popular characters from the hit show and will further enhance their enjoyment and the tension fans have experienced through the first two seasons.

Of course, the game’s objectives aren’t to duplicate the TV show … or comic.

… or does it?

Orphan Black returns to BBC AMERICA for a highly anticipated third season on April 18th at 9:00pm ET, with the season premiere also airing across all AMC networks channels – AMC, IFC, SundanceTV, and WEtv in the U.S. and across Bell Media’s Space, Bravo, CTV, and MTV channels in Canada.

We’re extremely pleased about expanding our partnership with IDW” says John Young, Managing Director of Temple Street Productions. “We’re very excited about the new Orphan Black tabletop games which give our fans the opportunity to spend more time in the Orphan Black world they love and share that experience with friends.”

The first Orphan Black game will be a tense contest of deduction and deception for 3-6 players. In Orphan Black: The Card Game, you are a member secretly assigned to one of three teams; the Proletheans, Neolutionists, or the Bird Watchers. The game’s objective is to persuade or otherwise manipulate as many clones into becoming part of your faction as possible, while also keeping your opponents guessing as to which of the three factions you’re really working for. If you can cloud your tactics and obscure your true objective while covertly influencing your targets, then victory is yours! The ever-present pressure and atmosphere of distrust during the gameplay will definitely have players experiencing an episode of the hit TV show, and the strategic elements of the game will certainly add an extra layer of enjoyment of this hit TV series and comic. Even the most experienced gamers will discover a completely new level of boardgame enjoyment.

Look for Orphan Black: The Card Game in retail stores in July 2015. Meanwhile, IDW Games will reveal more and more details about both the card and upcoming big box tabletop game on www.idwgames.com.
