Kickstart the Dark Lord and the Seamstress!

J. M. Frey is as talented as she is lovely. Not only is she an award winning novelist (her debut novel Triptych is not to be missed) and actress, but she also sings and you should see some of her cosplay! If you are unfamiliar with her work, you can pick up her novel The Dark Side of the Glass which is a satirical look at fandom on Amazon or you can read her essay about the Canadian contribution to Doctor Who in Doctor Who in Time and Space. Once you’ve caught up with all of Frey’s work and her Tumblr you’ll be ready to hear about her new project; The Dark Lord and the Seamstress.

Since 2002, Frey has dreamed of sharing The Dark Lord and the Seamstress, and now she has turned to Kickstarter to make her dream a reality. This new project is a family-friendly love story told in verse and will be fully illustrated by Jennifer Vendrig. The tale of the world’s most renowned seamstress being summoned by the Devil to update his wardrobe and their unlikely relationship is nothing short of charming. With Frey’s sense of humour and Vendrig’s beautiful illustrations, this is one Kickstarter you’ll want to see succeed but you have to hurry up, the campaign closes on Saturday September 13th at 6pm. So here’s the link once more, make sure you check out all of the awesome perks (from original art and critiques from Frey, to a personalized ringtone recorded by Ed the Sock and Liana K!) and make sure you donate so we can all enjoy this masterpiece together.

As of publication, The Dark Lord and the Seamstress was 68% funded and only needed $1,579 more to become a reality.
