NerdPlay trading cards feature stunning cosplayers exclusive to Nerd Block!

Toronto, ON (February 12, 2015) – Nerd Block, the monthly subscription box for pop culture fanatics, is augmenting their current line of designer apparel and limited edition collectibles from toy companies such as Hasbro, Mattel and Funko with an exclusive: the world’s first line of cosplayer related merchandise.

Nerd Block has teamed up with a selection of the industry’s best-known and emerging cosplayers to deliver the first of several NerdPlay products: a 144 trading card set featuring 12 cosplayers decked out as various characters from comics, cartoons, TV series, and video games.

With 10 cards per pack, fans have a one in six chance of finding a rare foil card. NerdPlay trading cards will not only be placed in upcoming Nerd Blocks, but will also be available for sale exclusively through Nerd Block’s upcoming e-store, giving fans ample opportunity to collect and trade cards with their friends as they chase the entire set.

“Cosplay is the epitome of nerd culture,” says Ashley Hay, one of the cosplayers featured in NerdPlay. “To be a collectible part of a culture that consumes my whole life is amazing and humbling. Plus, Nerd Block is Comic Con in a box so it just makes sense.”

Joining Ashley Hay in NerdPlay are Chaka Cumberbatch, Yaya Han, WindoftheStars, Monika Lee, Nicole Marie Jean, LeeAnna Vamp, Jayden Okageo, Lisa Lou Who, Meagan Marie, Abby Dark Star, and Yuffiebunny.

The release of NerdPlay trading cards is just the first step in Nerd Block’s commitment to cosplay merchandising, as they build additional exciting products around these and other cosplayers. Nerd Block, like Luke Skywalker learning the ways of the Force, has taken its first step into a larger world.

Since its inception in 2013, Nerd Block has spawned a dedicated community of fans and followers, with subscribers regularly discussing each month’s Block contents and guessing what might be arriving next. In addition to Nerd Block Classic, subscribers may also choose from Nerd Block Junior for boys or girls, Horror Block, and Arcade Block for the avid gamer.

As fans of both cosplay and Nerd Block, GEEKPR0N is happy to be the first to bring the news of NerdPlay to you.
