The Pull List: New Comic Releases and Top 5 for October 15
This week is the big one, and Marvel is really milking it with no fewer than four titles tied into the main event. I am of course, talking about the Death of Wolverine. But not to be outdone, DC continues the Robin Rises story arc and the Justice League are going to face a huge new threat and all of these titles are part of this week’s top 5 new comics:
Batman and Robin #35
Robin Rises continues in this issue and Batman is still trying to recover his son’s body. But this week it’s truly a family affair because Red Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl are helping him out. The saga of whether Batman can find Damien’s body on Apokolips is getting closer to its resolution.
Justice League #35
Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor are going to join Wayne Enterprises and LexCorp together, while the Justice League is faced with a dangerous new Amazo virus that is picking them off. There is a lot for the heroes of the DCU to contend with as The Amazo Virus story arc starts.
Deadpool’s Art of War #1 (of 4)
It seems like Deadpool has a hand in everything these days, and nothing is sacred. Unfortunately Sun Tzu’s famous Art of War is no exception and in this four-part series the Merc with a Mouth is going to share his pointers on how to start a war. I have no doubt that it will be informative, entertaining, and terrifyingly chaotic.
Wild’s End #2
If you didn’t read issue one, you are missing out. The art is stunning and the anthropomorphic characters are charming and the plot is reminiscent of War of the Worlds. What more could you possibly want from a comic than that?
Death of Wolverine #4 (of 4)
After months of buildup and weeks of delays it is finally going to happen. Wolverine will die and fans will mourn (I’ll be leading the procession). Charles Soule has promised that the final five pages of the issue are a real “gut punch”, and he seems excited to explore the Marvel Universe in Logan’s absence. Of course, rumours of his return are already circulating so don’t be too sad. Unlike Uncle Ben, Logan isn’t likely to be gone for long.
