Review – Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Spoiler free!)

I’m pretty sure the studio heads at Marvel have outdone themselves in this second episode of the Cap series.

Now, unlike the big action flick that was The Avengers, that had its payoff moments and it’s “Ha! That was awesome!” scenes, Cap 2 is more of a political thriller that felt more like it could be an epic installment of the “Bourne” series. More along the lines of, “Ohmigod, wait WHAT?!? OHMIGOD!!”

The fight scenes in and of themselves are nothing short of spectacular. Unlike previous Marvel movies where the feeling was, “Take THAT bad guy!” When someone hits someone, YOU practically feel the force behind it (giving OR receiving).

For those of us who’ve been following along with TV’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., last weeks episode ties in beautifully with this film. As well, plot points in The Winter Soldier are going to have huge impacts on the show that I personally can’t wait to see play out!

Just in time for Easter, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is chock full of more Easter Eggs than you can shake a stick at! From mentions, to surprise characters, to actor cameos, your brain will explode with all the awesome Marvel has thrown your way!

So let’s recap here… Captain America: The Winter Soldier, great Marvel movie, or greatest Marvel movie of all time? I’m going to have to go with the latter on this one.
