Short Film: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha.

When I first saw this I thought it was a bit over the top, but I understand why it’s so grandiose. The gaming industry, particularly in the shooter genre, is ridiculously competitive. So much so that development companies are shelling out tens of thousands of dollars for A-list actors and award winning directors bang out videogame trailers on weekends.

Okay, maybe not on weekends but, it kinda seems that way.

Example:Call of Duty’s Vet vs Noob & Micheal Bay’s Need for Speed trailer.

This 25-minute short film for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Solider was directed by Oscar winning directors Herve & Francois of Little Minx, a subsidiary of RSA Films.
The star-studded production team behind this project included script writers, Tim Sexton (Children of Men) and Gregory Pruss. Editor, Pietro Scalia, known for Black Hawk Down and JFK with Trent Opaloch (District 9) as the Directory of Photography.

Needless to say, it’s goddamn amazing. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Solider drops May 22. Check it out.
