Spider-Man is Officially Coming to The Marvel Cinematic Universe!


Rejoice all Spider-Man fans around the world! Our favorite web shooting hero is coming to where he belongs, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! We’ve been hearing rumblings and rumors of this momentous occasion potentially happening, after that whole Sony Pictures hacking scandal, and now we can rest easy because it has happened. With this deal that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have made, Spidey will make his grand appearance in a Marvel film then a solo film will be released on July 28th, 2017 and Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal (former head of Sony) will co-produce. Sony will have all the final creative controls of the Spider-Man films.

How cool would it be if Iron Man made an appearance in a Spider-Man film? Or Captain America? Or Thor? Oh the possibilities!! Also, all the jokes about Spidey not being with the Avengers or with the Marvel world can officially end now!

VIA Variety, Bob Iger, who is the chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, said, “Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s great characters, beloved around the world.  We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building.” Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios said,“I am thrilled to team with my friends at Sony Pictures along with Amy Pascal to produce the next Spider-Man movie, Amy has been deeply involved in the realization on film of one of the world’s most beloved characters.  Marvel’s involvement will hopefully deliver the creative continuity and authenticity that fans demand from the MCU.” This also marks the end of Andrew Garfield’s run as Spider-Man, so who would you guys like to play Spidey?
