Is it Star Trek? Or is it just Google Glass?

We all know that Star Trek has been a huge influence on technology today inspiring the first flip-style communicator (phone), touch screen tech, modern laptops and tablets.

So I guess it’s only natural that the next step would be streamlined headsets. But I can’t help but think of it more like The Lawnmower Man or that freaky episode of X-Files called First Person Shooter. Why is it something ALWAYS goes wrong when it comes to virtual reality? You’d think we would learn from our mistakes, but no.

Having said that, a Google Glass game developer has come out with their version of The Game, a Ktarian game that influenced the pleasure center of the brain the more you succeeded at it. Ultimately it made you completely submissive allowing for others to do unseemly things, like take over all of Starfleet while it’s officers spend their days ensconced in the game. Thank the gods for Wesley and Data.

When I heard that somebody had made a Google Glass version of The Game, I have to admit my first thought was, “How the heck are you managing to make a game that stimulates pleasure centers?!” O_o

Well now, it seems that we haven’t quite made it that far. I’m sort of glad about that (I’d like to avoid being a walking pleasure center drone thanks). They have, however, managed to make a pretty good replica of the original mind-numbing game from Star Trek. Are the graphics and game play as good? Meh… seems a bit glitchy to me telling by the video, but then again I’m not about to pay the cost required to have my own Google Glasses to find out.

I’m sure someone has come up with an iPhone app for that, right? Guys?
