Xbox is Making YouTube Better.

Microsoft is making sure their consoles are a total home entertainment system.  They announced that on Tuesday April 8th, 2014, the Xbox 360 would now allow users to stream and share GoPro footage with the GoPro Channel App.  This app enables anyone with a GoPro camera to create, edit and share any content they create.  They didn’t stop at the Xbox 360.

They also announced that the Xbox One would be receiving an update to its YouTube app.  It will be possible to upload any video captured via your DVR, and edited with Upload, to be shared directly with YouTube.

This is big for the gaming community on Xbox.  It helps stream line the process for sharing videos online.  It also means that player generated content will be more prevalent through the Xbox.  Before the new app was introduced, most players would have to hook up their Xbox’s (360 and One,) to their PC’s and then record their footage.  The new app cuts out the middle man, or middle PC.

This now allows the doors to be opened to gamers who have never had the chance to create gaming videos.  It gives access to a whole new generation of content generators.

It is an exciting time for gaming.

If you had the chance to live stream, or share a game, what game would you play?  Which games would you want to see?
