Moffett Approved A Capella Doctor Who Theme with Lyrics
I’m not entirely sure whether the video I’m about to show you is terrifying or hilarious or brilliant. Like many episodes of Doctor Who I’m leaning towards a bit of each.
A young Whovian, Dan Rider sings the new Doctor Who Theme in a four-part harmony theme a cappella, adding lyrics based on the ninth, tenth and eleventh Doctors borrowing famous lines & Whoisms such as “Allons-y Alonzo” and “Fezzes are Cool”. In Matt Smith attire complete with Fez and Bow Tie, Rider performs all four parts of his impeccably timed and creatively video taped A Capella theme song.
Even current Doctor Who show-runner Steven Moffett approves, liking it enough to earn a personal retweet saying this video “Made my day”. If that’s not endorsement enough … well here’s mine too 😉
In explaining his inspiration, Rider says, “I was so pumped for Let’s Kill Hitler on August 27th that I just had to sing!”. Me too Dan Rider, me too.
