Doctor Who Season 6: Two New Trailers & New Return Date

Doctor Who has officially bumped up it’s return from it’s mid-season hiatus to August 27th on Space and BBC America.

Also released brand new cast photos, a new trailer for the second half of Season 6 as well as a preview for episode 11 “The God Complex” See it all after the jump

First thing’s first. New cast photo. Cast, characters, villains, ambiguous entities. Already looking good.

“Something is happening to time”

Whatever it is, The Doctor accompanied by presumably real Amy and Rory Hitler are embarking on a whole new set of adventures full of space ships, kisses, sword fights, and enemies new and old (hopefully a few friends along the way too). Winston Churchill, Hitler, cybermen, eye-patch lady, the silence, the weeping angels, River (also donning an eye-patch) are all involved. No sign of stetsons but I’m pretty sure top hats are cool again.

Episode Eleven ‘The God Complex,’ written by Toby Whithouse ( ‘School Reunion’ and ‘Vampires of Venice.’) Seems to have a very eerie “Shining” feel to it, and if you have an aversion to creepy clowns view with caution.

 “Bring me death, bring me glory. he has promised me a glorious death” as the camera happens upon the Doctor looking at himself in the mirror. When Who does creepy well, it’s fantastic!

I’m very excited, yet cautiously optimistic for the second half of season six. Either way I’m thrilled to have Matt Smith, Karen Gillian and Arthur Darvill (and Alex Kingston) back in just a month!!!

“Let’s Kill Hitler”, Doctor Who’s Mid-Season Premiere airs at 8pm August 27th following a Doctor Who marathon kicking off at 1pm on Space Channel in Canada.
