Holy Crap, Jurassic Park 4 Is Now Confirmed For 2014. In 3D

Spielberg fans were left a bit disappointed when word came out that his tentative next film, Robopocalypse, was being delayed indefinitely. But that disappointment quickly vanished when his next announcement hit the public.

Because oh yes….JURASSIC PARK IV HAS A RELEASE DATE, PEOPLE.

WE HAVE DINOSAURS.

AND THEY WILL BE IN 3D.

The now confirmed date is June 13, 2014. Steven Spielberg will once again produce, along with Frank Marshall; the director has yet to be named. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) are writing the script.

Bonus dinosaur awesomeness: The original Jurassic Park, which came out 20 years ago (yeesh), will also see a 3D and IMAX 3D re-release, on April 5, 2013. The JP website has been updated with info, as well as the original trailer. Sigh. 🙂

You can bet your asses I’ll be posting every piece of information I find on this.

Extra bonus movie awesomeness: Marshall has confirmed that JP4 is still relying on animatronics rather than CGI to bring the dinosaurs to life. That might be my favourite part, seeing as I know I’m not only speaking for myself when I say that the use of animatronics in the first JP film are a big part of what made it seem so real.
