How much do clothes cost in the Matrix?

I always get a kick out of “futuristic” fashion. Usually it’s some over the top, unwearable, get-up made from stainless steel and medical grade PVC.  Completely ridiculous and totally impractical.

As humanity progresses, shouldn’t everyday tasks like getting dressed would become easier? Shouldn’t our clothing be designed to, I dunno, fit humans! I’m not saying that everything in my closet is practical.  I have several pairs of 6 inch stilettos and I’m not defending them. They don’t need it. When I strap those suckers on, they explain themselves.
