MacLachlan will be playing “The Doctor” and according to iO9, that is code for Skye’s father! But we still don’t really know what that means; will the role be recurring? Is Skye’s father one of the Marvel Universes many existing doctors? There are so many speculations about Skye’s origins, so it is comforting to know that some mysteries will begin to unravel within the first couple of episodes. MacLachlan and Lawless are only two of the newcomers to the cast of Marvel’s first TV show. They will be joined by Nick Blood who will play Lance Hunter (comic fans may recognize the character), and Reed Diamond who will play a Hydra villain.
