Metal Gear Solid V Release Date Announced

This morning the official word came down that we have all been waiting for –  the final countdown is on to September 1st when Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released world wide for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, bringing closure to the tragic tale of Big Boss and showing us Hideo Kojima’s definitive vision for what Metal Gear Solid should be.

The game’s prequel chapter, Ground Zeros, was released last March to severe backlash from the public for what they deemed to be nothing more than a glorified demo receiving a full retail release.  You can read Jen’s full review for the game here.  Even before Ground Zeros’ release the game was drawing fire from long-time fans when it was announced that long time series lead actor David Hayter would not be returning for MGSV and would be replaced by Keifer Sutherland of 24 fame.

With Jen and I both being massive MGS fan we will no doubt be having an epic hand to hand battle to determine which of us will get to review the game, so come back in September to see who wins that fight and if the long wait for The Phantom Pain has been worth it
