The Pull List: The Top Titles of September 2

It’s Wednesday which means that we’ve got a whole new set of titles to watch out for in this week’s Pull List! 

PLUTONA  #1 | IMAGE COMICS

This new book by Jeff Lemire asks the question of what would happen when a group of kids find the dead body of a superhero? In Plutona, we follow five young misfits who make a startling discovery in the forest that will forever change their lives. It’s basically a combination of The Breakfast Club and Stand By Me with a dead superhero twist and it looks very promising with this strong debut issue.

DEADPOOL VS. THANOS #1 | MARVEL COMICS

This bi-weekly, four issue limited series stars the Merc with a Mouth and the Mad Titan as they’re forced to work together to find the one woman they both love, Mistress Death. As you can imagine, they don’t get along well and they should make for an excellent odd couple in what should be a really fun book.

MOCKINGBIRD: S.H.I.E.L.D 50TH ANNIVERSARY #1 | MARVEL COMICS

Marvel continues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of S.H.I.E.L.D by having New York Times’ Bestselling Author Chelsea Cain write a revenge story about one of S.H.I.E.L.D’s best agents, Mockingbird. As an added bonus, there’s an additional story written by young adult author Margaret Stohl — who’s also writing the upcoming Marvel novel called Black Widow: Forever Red.
