I always love the touching, yet lighthearted wacky adventures of the Doctor Who Christmas specials. The trailer for “The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe”, a title reminiscent of a childhood classic, appears to have all the key ingredients that make Doctor Who a Christmas treat.

Matt Smith has proven himself over and over again to be a Doctor with magnificent range. He’s also been the most upbeat of the most recent three (able to hit some quite serious and angsty notes as well), making him perfectly suited for the special.

Official Synopsis:
Evacuated to a house in Dorset from war-torn London, Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, are greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world.
