Two years ago, actual-queen-of-my-life JK Rowling revealed that she was writing a screenplay for the film adaptation of the Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The book was written in 2001 by Rowling (under the pseudonym of fictitious author Newt Scamander) and featured the magical creatures in the Harry Potter universe. Many of the creatures — like the Hippogriff and the Acromantula — were heavily featured in the book and movie series. In the Harry Potter universe, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a mandatory textbook that Hogwarts first-years had to purchase. The book that Rowling published benefited the charity Comic Relief and included several notes written by Harry Potter and his best friend Ron Weasley.

In the upcoming film, set to be released on November 2016, will feature author Newt Scamander and will be set in New York more than 70 years before Harry’s story begins. Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne (Theory of Everything) was announced to play Scamander and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have our first look of him in character!

Entertainment Weekly said this about the cover:

In our cover image, you get a first look at Scamander, his pivotal briefcase in hand, standing inside the entrance of the majestic art deco-influenced Magical Congress of the United States of America (or MACUSA), which is the American version of the Ministry of Magic that’s housed inside the Woolworth Building in the film.

HOLY CRAP! THERE ARE SO MANY FEELS.

Joining Redmayne is Katherine Waterson, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrel, Jon Voight and Ron Perlman.

What do you guys think? Will you watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?
