Heroes of the World

Every country needs a hero. Ain’t that the truth? Heroes of The World: The Legend of the Earth Conduit is a unique superhero universe where everyone has a hero to look up to. While this may not sound earth shattering, it’s actually kind of a big deal.

The pressure is on when Orehs power proves to be beyond his capabilites, fueling rumors that he is in fact, the Earth Conduit. He must learn to harness his abilites before the F.I.S.T invasion. He is Earths last hope.

Oreh Gaia – mixed like me!

Heroes of the World is exactly how it sounds. Each hero has abilities that are unique to their respective countries. From the UK? Haze can create, and turn into fog. Barbados? Core Stone has a limestone skeleton and wields a trident. Japan? Mechanica is warrior cyborg whose katana can cut through an object known to man. Mexico? Slam Master is an ex-luchador with superhuman strength and invulnerability. And for those of you mixed like me, we have Oreh Gaia.

12 year old Defender in training, Oreh Gaia and the worlds heroes, the Unified Taskforce Elite, must prepare for an apocalyptic battle when F.I.S.T, a terrorist group thought to have long been dead; suddenly rises with unimaginable strength… and without warning.

Heroes of the World is exactly the kind of story we need. With its loud and strong message of unity, and heritage, it’s no surprise it comes to us home grown from the multicultural heart that is Toronto. Canadian artists and creators Joe Osei Bonsu & Mark Williams had this to say about the project:

“This work appeals to everyone and instills a strong sense of pride for your heritage, but also touches strongly on the idea that diversity enriches our experiences and ultimately unites us.”

The first 2 issues are available through their official site and a 3rd issue already in the works. Mark, Joe, Shawn & Vince are super rad dudes. If you can get out to the comic cons, make sure you hit their booth to meet them. Nicest. Guys. Ever.

Every country needs a hero, where are YOU from?
