If you’re a music geek, then you already know about Record Store Day which happens every year on the 3rd Saturday of April. It’s a great opportunity to support your local record stores, support artists and get yourself limited edition vinyl from some of your favourite bands. If you dig shopping and deals then you already know about Black Friday (this Friday Nov. 25), which is an attempt to drive traffic to stores in the USA during the holiday season by luring people in with awesome sales.

This year, Record Store Day is promoting a Black Friday for records – not to sell records cheaper necessarily – but according to www.recordstoreday.com to “create pieces of art in the form of limited special editions, often numbered, from the some of the most revered artists of our time.” With special releases from Beastie Boys, The Black Keys, The Misfits, The Beatles and more this is definitely a day record hounds don’t want to miss.
