‘Gotham’ Gets Series Order PLUS – The First Trailer!

On May 5th, Fox’s highly anticipated Gotham was picked up for a series order for their Fall 2014 schedule.

Set as an origin story, Gotham was made a series commitment by Fox early in its development and would’ve had to pay a hefty fee had the show not been picked up.

There’s no officially premiere date for the show but Fox has released a two-minute trailer for the prequel during the premiere of 24: Live Another Day and it looks promising. It introduces us to the corrupt world of Gotham, including a young Bruce Wayne who would grow up to be Batman. We get a taste at all of the major characters in the show including Selina Kyle and Oswald Cobblepot; as well as the reveal of young Poison Ivy and Riddler (played by Broadway actor Cory Michael Smith).

Aside from Jada Pinkett-Smith, most of the cast is relatively unknown which may work in the show’s favour. Any hesitation fans may have had about the series might disappear after watching the trailer!

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Donal Logue, Robin Lord Taylor and David Mazouz.
