I Am Not A Hipster

It can be said that the more you deny being a hipster, the more you are one. Whatever. If this theory holds water, the protagonist in Destin Daniel Cretton’s film, I Am Not A Hipster is sure to be just what the title says he’s not. Written and directed by film n00b Cretton and set to premiere at Sundance, the film is described as “a character-driven story exploring themes of love, loss and what it means to be creative in the face of tragedy.” I’m not sure that I would see it based on this alone, but the addition of what looks to be beautiful cinematography and a killer soundtrack by indie rock band, The Canines has brought this film to the top of my must-watch list.
