Listen To: Lucero’s ‘Women and Work’

Oh thank goodness. It’s been three years, but Memphis, TN country-rockers Lucero have graced us with the new album, ‘Women and Work’ and will tour to support it.

These 11 tracks contain the band’s signature raucous honky tonk meets punk stylings while they have also fine tuned their lonesome laments into true salt on the ol’ wound territory. In addition to the six core members, the new record boasts session horn legends, Jim Spake (Solomon Burke, Ray Charles) and Scott Thompson (Al Green, Cat Power) with The Gaslight Anthem’s Ted Hutt producing. This is the second time the band has added horns on an album, and is a nice hat tip to the Memphis sound made famous by Stax Records. Keep reading past the jump to find out where to stream the whole album and when Lucero will be playing in your town.

‘Women and Work’ was released on March 13, 2012 on ATO Records. You can stream the whole album for free right here.
