Listen To: Mean Jeans
Are you ready for pop-punk perfection? If you said yes as fast as Princess Peach can go get herself kidnapped by Bowser then you need to do youself a freaking favour and listen to the Mean Jeans. Hailing from Portland, this drunk-and-a-half trio pack as much party as they can into three minute long ditties that will stay in your head longer than your next hangover.
The third album from Mean Jeans is called, ‘On Mars’ and this is the one where they truly nail their snot-pop-punk sound. They have graduated beyond the simple Ramones formula of guitar-bass-drums to include a wealth of new instruments like acoustic guitar, drum machines, keyboards, empty Jägermeister bottles and boxes of macaroni. Overall, what you get is an awesome album from start to finish that will surely be the soundtrack to many summer hijinx.
