Marilyn Manson + Johnny Depp = Music Love?

As far as duets are concerned, here’s one that’s sure to take the cake for weirdest. Don’t mistake weird for surprising though, because this pair goes together as well as black eyeliner on a goth. Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has partnered up with longtime friend, actor Johnny Depp to record a cover of Carly Simon’s ‘You’re So Vain’ for the upcoming Manson album, ‘Born Villain’ due May 1.

But before you try and make sense of this fuckery, bear in mind that the two have been friends since Manson borrowed parts of the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ wardrobe and forgot to give it back recorded a song for Depp’s 2001 film, ‘From Hell.’ Clearly Manson digs the H-Wood treatment, he had Shia Labeouf direct the ‘Born Villain’ promo video and Depp is no stranger to playing the role of rockstar either, having jammed in L.A.’s infamous Viper Room with the likes of Keith Richards and ZZ Top among others.

Unfortunately, ‘You’re So Vain’ will not be the first released single, but you can be sure that a music video will be in the works. What would it be about? Manson told MTV UK that it would probably be “us looking at each other in a mirror.” Uhhh…yeah. Good to see Manson is about as modest as he is original. ‘You’re So Vain’ has been covered by numerous artists like the Foo Fighters and Queens Of The Stone Age. That being said, Johnny Depp? Swoon.

Check out Depp unleashing his rock n’ roll chops with the legendary Alice Cooper and tell me if you’ll be eagerly anticipating his duet with Manson in the comments below.
